Engaging. Transformative. Cost Effective.
Authentic Outcomes
Our providers depend upon the services of the health coaches. Our outcomes have shown that health coaches have been very effective in decreasing the number of hospital readmissions and ER visits. And, they have had an impact on our quality improvement in diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Our organization sees the value of the health coach role.
Powerful Live Presenters
The Clinical Health Coach training was excellent information presented, as was the quality, passion, kindness and warmth of the presenters. I very much enjoyed being with the group and hearing what other health care organizations are doing in terms of coaching. I walked away inspired, ready to learn new skills and seek more information, especially in this time of health care reform.
Guiding Patient Change
The Clinical Health Coach is so valuable in being able to connect with the patients. From a nursing perspective we’ve been taught to educate, educate, educate. This gives us a different approach. It allows the patient to come to those goals themselves with assistance from us to apply those goals. Whether it’s their diet, their emotional state or their chronic condition. We’re getting the tools, the template to guide those patients into making healthier decisions. I think the Clinical Health Coaching brings very valuable benefits to patients to help them maintain their health.
Transformational Experience
The Clinical Health Coach training opened my eyes to the fast-changing landscape of today’s health care and the vital role that health coaching is likely to play. Not only are the members of the Clinical Health Coach staff experts in their respective fields, together they created the most nurturing and supportive environment in which to learn and practice the techniques of health coaching. My experience was truly transformational, both personally and professionally.
Valuable, Inspiring, Relevant
The Clinical Health Coach training was valuable, inspiring and filled with relevant, evidence-based information and great net-working opportunities. I enjoyed being with passionate, like-minded people learning techniques to coach people to become active participants in their self-care especially as it relates to the realities of the changing health care environment and the increase of chronic disease in the US.
New Level of Competence
After over 30 years as a nurse, I thought I had mastered anything that a clinical health coach course may offer. However, what I learned through this course has raised my level of competence to a new level. It wasn’t until I began to practice with others that I realized the value of completing the ICCC Clinical Health Coaching Certification.
180 Degree Turn
My conversations with patients took a 180 degree turn after that training! I had put all the emphasis on myself to help the patient change. I would ask myself, “What can I do during our 15 minute visit to impact the patient the most?” After the health coach training, I learned the patient is the biggest untapped resource. And, that 90% of their healthcare is spent outside of the office. So, I ask myself, how can I put the patient in charge of becoming more confident in their self-management, making better decisions for themselves? Ultimately, it was really more about shifting that focus from myself to the patient and helping to empower them.
